Vitamin B2 Vitamin B2 is vital for the health of our cells. It helps breakdown fats in our body, and reduce inflammation of our nerves. Like all other B vitamins, B2 also helps in converting food into energy. Small amounts of Vitamin B2 can be produced by the bacteria in our gut, but we get most of it from the food we eat. As Vitamin B2 is water soluble, we need to consume it daily.
