This was amazing. Rusty at wind waker but it was fun regardless The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD is a Wii U remake of the Nintendo Gamecube game. It was officially announced on January 23rd, 2013, in which only a couple of screenshots featuring Windfall Island, Link, Tetra, and Sue-Belle were shown. Nintendo also showed the first trailer for the game during its E3 Direct livestream on June 11, 2013, revealing the game in motion as well as some of the new features of the game. The game is compatible with GamePad-only play, allowing the game to be played off TV, and it will also feature Miiverse integration in the form of messages in bottles that can appear on the shores of other players' islands. [48] It is slated for release in September 2013 in Japan and October 2013 in the United States. [49] [50] The remake also features a "speedup" function that enables the King of Red Lions to sail faster if the A button is pressed. [51] This replaces the function of the A button in the original game, which was to stop the boat from sailing. Nintendo has stated that the game will use shaders to increase the expressivity of characters. The game also employs large amounts of real-time self-shadowing, something only seen in small amounts in the original game. [52] Boat-specific functions, as well as the Wind Waker item, are mapped to the D-pad on the Wii U Gamepad. [53] The decision to remake the game came after the team decided to attempt to upscale the game's graphics to the Wii U's HD capabilities, after doing the same to the graphics of Twilight Princess in E3 2011.
