The first contestant on KBC 12 was Aarti Jagtap. She was asked a question related to actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who died by suicide on June 14 in Mumbai, during the course of the game. It was about Sushant's co-star Sanjana Sanghi in the film, Dil Bechara, which was released after his death. Amitabh Bachchan asked Aarti about the actress who had debuted opposite the late actor in it.
